Where we are Poster 10 blank.jpg

This Is Where We Are

"We’re in Piccadilly Gardens. It’s a hot day. People sit. People wait. People walk. People drink lattes. People beg. Children play. They run in and around the fountains.
It’s about midday.
By one fifteen
Their world will change forever."

Award winning theatre collective Take Back invite you to a new play by our Becx, This Is Where We Are (longlisted in the top 40 for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting 2017) about an incident in Piccadilly Gardens.

This is a play for our city.

I wrote This Is Where We Are (Not Where We Always Have To Be) last year, starting it before the events at the Arena and finishing it in the immediate aftermath. I wanted to write a play that is a honest reflection of the divisions we face in our City and our wider society. And, as with everything we do with Take Back, to start a conversation about how we move forward with hope and unity.

We’d love to carry on the conversation afterwards with you.

Love and solidarity,

Rebekah Harrison - Writer
